Primary Responsibilities:
The Mainframe Communication Server System Engineer participates in design, development and implementation of mainframe network systems (TCP/IP and SNA/APPN) engineering activities, including OS technical support, systems programming and data centre support activities, and is responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities.
System programming functions in the configuration, support and tuning of MVS or Z/OS Operating System, and system products such as, CICS, DB, Scheduling & Software Application management tools.
Required Job Skills:
- 5 - 7 years in support and/or implementation of mainframe network engineering activities in z/OS environment.
- Min 3-4 years Systems Programming experience in z/OS.
- Possess networking, problem solving and protocol skills, understand Mainframe communication concepts, and be able to support mainframe connectivity design considerations.
- Working knowledge of TCP & SNA communications
- Printer Setup
Desired Job Skills:
- Knowledge of IBM z Enterprise server hardware
- Knowledge in REXX, and/or SAS programming.
- Knowledge of encryption technologies and certificate management (AT-TLS/KEYRINGs etc.).
- Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Good analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communications skills (Oral and Written).
- Understanding of banking or financial business is advantageous.
