Job Overview:
The Business Analyst is a hands-on, end-to-end role that converts business needs into clear, validated, and implementable requirements. The position owns the complete analysis lifecycle from problem discovery through post-implementation validation, acting as the analytical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Identify business problems, pain points, and objectives through stakeholder engagement.
- Distinguish between requested solutions and actual business needs.
- Map and analyse current-state processes to identify root causes, bottlenecks, and risks.
- Design improved future-state processes with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Analyse and prioritise business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Document requirements using user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and business rules.
- Prepare and maintain Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) and System Requirements Specifications (SRS).
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete, testable, and traceable to business objectives.
- Work with developers, architects, and other development teams to clarify requirements and review solutions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing and verify delivered functionality against requirements.
- Assess change impacts and manage requirement changes through formal approval.
- Validate business readiness and support preparation of user guides and training materials.
- Conduct post-implementation review to confirm business outcomes are achieved.
- Liaise with PMO on requirements status, risks, dependencies, and readiness.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Management or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in business analysis, system analysis, business process improvement, product delivery or digital transformation.
- Demonstrated experience participating in at least one complete solution lifecycle, from business discovery through implementation and post-implementation review.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting requirements for software, digital, operational or process-improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with both business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile/Waterfall, integrations, APIs, and databases.
- Preferred tools: Jira, Confluence, Visio, Figma, Excel, SQL (capability over tools).
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, facilitate workshops, and manage conflicting priorities.
- Take ownership, work independently, and adapt approach to project needs.
- Certifications (CBAP, CCBA, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma) are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to travel as required for project implementation, on-site support, and client engagement.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
