Job Overview:
The Senior IT Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support across the studio, ensuring employees have reliable IT services and minimal downtime. This role focuses on desktop support, workstation deployment, user account administration, IT asset management, software support, and day-to-day troubleshooting while working closely with the Systems Support Engineer on infrastructure-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-level technical support for desktop hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for desktop and end-user technical support requests.
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations, laptops, and end-user devices.
- Ensure all workstations remain updated with approved software, security patches, antivirus protection, and operating system updates.
- Install, configure, and support business and creative software, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk Maya, ShotGrid, and Nuke.
- Manage Active Directory user accounts, access permissions, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Maintain IT asset inventory, software licensing, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Document support procedures, maintain knowledge base articles, and recommend process improvements.
- Support IT projects, workstation refreshes, onboarding/offboarding, and meeting room or production setups.
- Support testing and deployment of new hardware and software solutions.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Desktop Support or End User Computing.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Linux, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Active Directory.
- Experience supporting desktop hardware, printers, peripherals, and remote support tools.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience supporting animation, VFX, gaming, or other creative studios is an advantage.
