We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager (Data Centre) to oversee the operations and maintenance of our client's mission-critical data centre infrastructure in Malaysia. This role is responsible for ensuring high levels of reliability, availability, safety, and operational excellence across critical electrical and mechanical (M&E) systems, while leading a high-performing facilities team.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in critical facilities and data centre infrastructure with proven experience managing teams, contractors, and vendors. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a mission-critical environment, supporting the reliability and continuous operation of critical infrastructure while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and maintenance excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance of critical data centre facilities, ensuring high levels of uptime, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Oversee preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance across critical M&E systems, including 33kV HT/LV systems, transformers, generators, UPS, PDUs, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, HVAC, fire protection, BMS, EMS, and environmental monitoring systems.
• Develop, review, and implement SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and Preventive Maintenance (PPM) plans.
• Lead, manage, and develop the facilities team while coordinating outsourced vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure maintenance activities meet agreed standards, schedules, and customer SLAs.
• Manage maintenance quotations, contracts, schedules, budgets, and annual operating forecasts.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, customer SLAs, and relevant statutory obligations.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring all licences and permits remain valid.
• Prepare maintenance reports, operational documentation, and performance updates for management.
• Support incident management, troubleshooting, and emergency response for critical facility systems.
• Be available for on-site support and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Valid Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) 33kV Chargeman Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in critical facilities management, with at least 3 years of experience in a data centre environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with critical data centre electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proven experience managing facilities teams, contractors, vendors, and outsourced service providers.
• Strong understanding of critical infrastructure, maintenance practices, operational procedures, and safety requirements.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond effectively to critical incidents and operational challenges.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
• Comfortable working extended hours and participating in 24/7 on-call support when required.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
