Job Description

Responsibilities

Safety Manager

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management system.
  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, subsidiary legislation, Codes of Practice, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of workplace safety, health, and environmental (HSE) programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented and maintained.
  • Oversee regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Advise management on WSH legal requirements, industry best practices, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and review safe work procedures (SWPs), emergency response plans, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Organize and lead safety committee meetings, toolbox talks, and WSH training programs.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with company and statutory safety requirements.
  • Ensure adequate provision and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, government authorities, and external auditors on WSH matters.
  • Monitor safety performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular management reports.
  • Lead emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills, incident response, and business continuity planning.
  • Mentor and supervise WSH personnel and promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Support internal and external audits, including ISO 45001 and other relevant management system certifications.
  • Stay updated on changes to WSH legislation and ensure company policies remain compliant.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties related to workplace safety and health as assigned by management.
