Company Description
Fairlight Capital Partners is a specialist capital introduction and distribution business focused on alternative investments and institutional-quality strategies. We act as a trusted intermediary between fund managers and the professional investor community — including family offices, wealth managers, private banks, platforms and institutional allocators — helping our partners access long-term, well-matched capital across international markets.
Operating as a lean, senior-led team, we have raised in excess of $1 billion for current and past partners globally. Our approach is built on discretion, credibility and long-term relationships rather than volume-driven sales activity, and our reputation in the market reflects that discipline.
Role Description
We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to help expand Fairlight's network of advisers, allocators and distribution partners. This is a relationship-first role suited to someone who understands that institutional capital raising is built over years, not quarters.
Core responsibilities:
- Identify and develop relationships with IFAs, family offices, wealth managers and institutional allocators
- Conduct market research to identify distribution opportunities for current and prospective fund partners
- Support the full engagement cycle — from initial outreach through to onboarding and ongoing relationship management
- Represent Fairlight professionally at meetings, conferences and industry events
- Report progress and market intelligence to senior management to inform distribution strategy
- Collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure consistency across partner engagement
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience in business development, sales or relationship management within financial services — asset management, wealth management or a related institutional context strongly preferred
- An existing network within the adviser, family office or wealth management community is a strong advantage
- Working knowledge of capital raising processes and comfort operating within a regulated environment
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to represent a boutique brand credibly to sophisticated audiences
- Confident communicator, equally comfortable in one-to-one relationship management and broader market positioning
- Self-directed and comfortable working within a small, senior team without heavy oversight
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field
Compensation
Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission and bonus structure, reflecting genuine contribution to capital raised and partnerships secured.
- This is an opportunity to build a long-term career inside a specialist distribution business with genuine access to senior deal flow and decision-making — not a large, process-heavy sales floor.
