Job Description:

We are hiring a Data Engineer on behalf of our key client in the Financial Services industry for a permanent position based in Cyberjaya.

Role Overview
The Data Engineer will be responsible for reviewing approved User Requirements Study (URS) and Data Warehouse Design (DWD) documents, then producing comprehensive ETL Mapping Design Documents as technical specifications for the Oracle Exadata Data Warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse approved User Requirements Study (URS) and Data Warehouse Design (DWD)
• Identify business requirements, reporting needs, and data transformation logic
• Develop detailed ETL Mapping Design Documents for ETL developers
• Create comprehensive Source-to-Target mapping specifications (field-level mappings)
• Define data extraction rules, transformation logic, and loading processes into Oracle Exadata
• Ensure mappings align with dimensional models, fact tables, dimension tables, and target schemas
• Support data integration, validation, and maintenance processes within the Data Warehouse

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL Development
• Strong experience in ETL Mapping Design and Source-to-Target Mapping
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata or Oracle Data Warehouse environment
• Solid understanding of Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, Fact & Dimension Tables)
• Experience reviewing URS and Data Warehouse Design documents
• Proficiency in ETL tools (Talend, Informatica, or similar)
• Banking or Financial Services domain knowledge is a strong advantage
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
