THIS POSITION IS BASED IN KLK HARDWOOD FLOORING SDN BHD, LOCATED IN IPOH, PERAK

Role and Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Strategy & Management

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the Company's business objectives.
• Manage end-to-end supply chain activities from procurement planning to customer delivery.
• Ensure seamless coordination between Procurement, Production Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, Sales, and Production departments.
• Continuously improve supply chain efficiency, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness.

2. Production Planning & Scheduling

• Oversee production planning activities to ensure manufacturing schedules meet customer demand and delivery commitments.
• Balance production capacity, manpower, machine utilization, and material availability.
• Coordinate with Production and Sales departments on production priorities and schedule adjustments.
• Monitor production plan adherence and resolve scheduling conflicts.

3. Procurement & Material Planning

• Ensure timely procurement of hardwood timber, adhesives and chemicals, UV coating materials, packaging materials, spare parts and production consumables.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and lead times.
• Develop sourcing strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and continuity of supply.
• Support supplier evaluation and development.

4. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

• Lead monthly Sales and Operations Planning meetings.
• Align sales forecasts with production capacity and inventory plans.
• Review customer demand trends and develop inventory replenishment strategies.
• Recommend capacity adjustments based on business forecasts.

5. Supplier Performance Management

• Develop supplier performance measurement systems.
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and business reviews.
• Work with suppliers to improve quality and delivery performance.

6. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs.
• Improve logistics efficiency, warehouse operations, inventory turnover, and procurement effectiveness.
• Lead Lean Supply Chain and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

7. Compliance & Certification

• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support certification requirements including ISO 9001 Quality Management System, PEFC Chain of Custody and FSC Chain of Custody (where applicable).
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of certified timber and finished products.
• Support internal, customer, and certification audits.

8. Leadership & People Management

• Lead and develop Supply Chain personnel including:
• Procurement team
• Production Planning team
• Warehouse team
• Logistics team
• Set departmental objectives and monitor performance.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

9. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

• Prepare monthly supply chain performance reports for management.
• Monitor and analyse supply chain KPIs.
• Recommend strategic improvements based on performance data.

Job Success Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehouse, or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in hardwood flooring, timber processing, furniture, wood products, or export manufacturing is highly preferred.
