1. Inbound & Outbound Operations
- Receiving: Assist the Supervisor in handling inbound goods, including furniture and retail store returns. Verify physical stock against documentation.
- Dispatch: Match Delivery Orders (DO) with physical cartons and furniture. Ensure 100% accuracy before items leave the bay.
- Heavy Lifting: Work alongside the supervisor to safely move and position heavy furniture and bulky crates.
2. Detailed Record Keeping & Documentation
- Maintain meticulous records of all stock movements using Transfer Notes.
- Ensure every entry includes the TRN (Transfer Release Note), DO Number, Carton Count, Driver Name, and Final Destination.
- Perform daily data entry or filing to ensure the paper trail matches physical movements.
3. Inventory Control & Quality Assurance
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory log of all furniture and accessories currently in the warehouse.
- Defect Management: Identify and sort defective or damaged furniture from the main stock.
- Disposal Planning: Evaluate the condition of damaged items and submit formal proposals to the supervisor for disposal or write-off.
4. Routing & Logistics Support
- Assist in planning optimal delivery routes to improve fleet efficiency.
- Organize the staging area to ensure drivers can load and depart quickly according to their assigned routes.
Requirements:
- Organizational Skills: High level of accuracy in tracking numbers (TRNs/DOs) and maintaining clear logs.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to assess furniture damage and determine if an item is salvageable or requires disposal.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of assisting with heavy manual labor and furniture assembly/moving.
- Communication: Clear reporting skills to keep the supervisor informed of inventory levels and defects.
