Sourcing Engineer
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Engineer to join a leading multinational manufacturing company. This role is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives for electronic components and other related materials, ensuring a reliable supply chain while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure electronic components, electrical, and mechanical parts from local and international suppliers.
- Evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers based on technical capability, product quality, pricing, delivery performance, and overall reliability.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to understand technical requirements and support new product introductions.
- Manage the end-to-end RFQ process, including quotation analysis, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and supply agreements to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
- Monitor market trends, component availability, and supply risks to support strategic sourcing decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate supplier implementation of engineering changes, design revisions, and product updates.
- Track supplier performance through regular reporting and recommend improvement plans where necessary.
- Maintain accurate sourcing records and procurement data within the ERP/MRP system.
- Prepare sourcing reports, cost analyses, forecasts, and other procurement-related documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of sourcing or procurement experience within the electronics or EMS manufacturing industry.
- Good understanding of semiconductors, passive components, connectors, and other electronic parts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with global electronics suppliers and supply chain practices.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP is an advantage).
- Fluent in English and willing to travel when required.
