ROLE SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester & Documentation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and usability of BerryPay’s digital products and solutions by validating functionality, identifying defects early and maintaining accurate relevant documentations.

This role works closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, Compliance and Business teams to deliver high-quality web, mobile and API solutions while ensuring documentation remains current throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

• Quality Assurance & Testing

· Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test cases, test scenarios and test plans for new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and regression testing.

· Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, usability, smoke, and end-to-end testing across web applications, mobile applications, APIs and backend services.

· Identify, document, prioritise, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps using defect management tools such as Jira, Notion or similar platforms.

· Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating test execution with internal stakeholders and external clients where required.

· Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes and improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle across all system environments.

• Test Automation & CI/CD

· Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Selenium, Postman, Katalon, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent technologies.

· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.

· Monitor automated test execution, investigate failures, and continuously improve testing reliability.

• Documentation & Knowledge Management

· Create, maintain, and update comprehensive technical and functional documentation, including but not limited to Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Release Notes, API Documentation, User Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base Articles.

· Ensure all documentation remains accurate, consistent, and synchronised with product enhancements, releases and system changes.

• Cross-functional Collaboration

· Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps Engineers, Compliance, Customer Support as well as Operations teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

· Participate in requirement reviews to identify ambiguities, edge cases and testability concerns early in the development process.

· Promote quality assurance best practices and contribute to continuous process improvement.

• Other Responsibilities

· Support production verification after system deployments.

· Assist in investigating production issues and validating resolutions.

· Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.

• Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Testing, Technical Documentation, or a related role.

· Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, RESTful APIs and backend systems.

· Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Katalon or equivalent.

· Experience using API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger or similar.

· Familiarity with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Notion or equivalent.

· Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC/STLC best practices.

· Experience in fintech, payment systems or regulated industries is an advantage.

· ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
