Job Summary:
The Accountant plays a vital role in bridging the gap between financial operations and client satisfaction. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial health of client accounts, generating accurate financial reports, providing excellent financial support to clients, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management & Financial Oversight
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of client accounts, general ledgers, and bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Billing & Invoicing: Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring invoices are generated accurately, dispatched on time, and payments are tracked and applied correctly.
- Budget Monitoring: Track client budgets, monitor spending against contracted amounts, and flag any overages or financial risks to management.
- Contract Review: Assist in reviewing client contracts and service agreements to ensure billing terms, pricing structures, and payment schedules are correctly implemented in the accounting system.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Routine Reporting: Prepare and distribute accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Client-Specific Reports: Generate customized financial summaries and performance reports for clients to provide transparency regarding their account status and ROI.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and deferrals.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, or areas for cost improvement, presenting findings to management.
3. Client Servicing & Support
- Financial Point of Contact: Act as a primary liaison for clients regarding billing inquiries, payment schedules, and financial statements, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Issue Resolution: Promptly investigate and resolve client billing disputes, credit issues, or payment discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Assist in the financial onboarding of new clients (setting up payment terms, credit checks) and the final reconciliation of accounts for departing clients.
- Client Communication: Proactively communicate with clients regarding upcoming renewals, price adjustments, or required financial documentation.
4. Internal Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Sales & Account Teams: Partner with the sales and account management teams to ensure accurate pricing, smooth handoffs of new clients, and alignment on financial expectations.
- Operations & Delivery: Coordinate with operations or project management teams to track project costs, timesheets, and resource utilization against client budgets.
- Finance & Legal Teams: Work closely with the broader finance team (tax, payroll, treasury) to ensure compliance with company policies, and collaborate with legal on contract amendments or collections.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting or client servicing workflows and collaborate with internal teams to implement automated or streamlined solutions.
Pay: RM500.00 - RM800.00 per month
