Project Engineer (Smart Factory / MES Implementation)

Position Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to lead the implementation of Smart Factory, MES, and APS solutions for manufacturing customers. This role bridges business requirements, solution design, project coordination, and customer communication to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate should possess strong project management fundamentals, structured thinking, excellent customer communication skills, and the ability to work closely with Solution Architects and Software Engineers throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead end-to-end implementation of Smart Factory, MES, and APS projects.
• Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource coordination.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate project meetings and status updates.

Business & Requirement Analysis

• Conduct requirement gathering workshops with customers.
• Analyse business processes and identify solution requirements.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, and related project documentation.
• Ensure requirements are properly validated and approved before development.

Customer Management

• Serve as the primary project contact throughout implementation.
• Manage customer expectations and maintain effective communication.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, Go-Live, and post-implementation support.

Technical Coordination

• Work closely with Solution Architects to validate technical feasibility.
• Coordinate with software development teams during implementation.
• Support solution testing, issue tracking, and deployment activities.

Project Governance

• Apply structured project management methodologies throughout project execution.
• Maintain project documentation including project plans, meeting minutes, RAID logs, change requests, and project reports.
• Ensure proper scope, risk, issue, and stakeholder management.

Requirements

Essential

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in software implementation, solution delivery, business analysis, or project management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical and logical thinking.
• Experience preparing business and functional documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willing to travel to customer sites when required.

Preferred

• Experience in MES, ERP, APS, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Industry 4.0 projects.
• Familiarity with ERP, APIs, databases, or system integration concepts will be an added advantage
• Practical knowledge of PMBOK, PMP methodologies, or structured project governance.
• Experience working with enterprise software implementation projects.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations and production processes.
