The M&E Engineer supports the Technical Department in M&E design review and value engineering (VE) initiatives, working closely with other engineers and reporting to the Head of Department to deliver practical, cost-effective, and well-coordinated M&E solutions across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

M&E Design Review & Coordination:

• Review M&E consultants’ designs and drawings (Electrical, ACMV, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV, Lift) for technical soundness, constructability, and compliance with project requirement.
• Identify design gaps, inconsistencies, and key risks, and work with relevant parties to resolve them.
• Coordinate across M&E, C&S, and Architectural disciplines to ensure proper integration of building systems.

Value Engineering & Technical Assessment (Key Focus):

• Support the development and evaluation of practical M&E value engineering (VE) proposals, balancing cost, performance, and operational considerations.
• Assist in option studies and technical comparisons in collaboration with QS, consultants, Planning, and Project Teams.
• Contribute to feasibility assessments and technical recommendations for design optimisation.

Construction Support & Technical Coordination:

• Provide technical support to project and site teams on M&E-related matters during construction
• Assist in resolving site issues and technical queries in coordination with consultants and stakeholders

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in M&E consulting, design review, or design & build (D&B) environment and experience in building projects (e.g. high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed development) is preferred
• Ability to interpret M&E drawings and engage in technical discussions with consultants.
• Exposure to value engineering and cost optimisation is an advantage
• Good understanding of M&E systems and coordination requirements across disciplines with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Willing to work in Petaling Jaya (Sungai Way)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
