Position: General Studies Teacher — Primary History and Geography
Location: ICONS International School, Ara Damansara
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
ICONS International School is looking for a dynamic and passionate General Studies Teacher to join our Primary School team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in History and Geography, nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and a positive learning environment among primary students.

The teacher will support students in developing a strong understanding of the world around them, including people, places, cultures, historical events, environments, and global awareness.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver effective and engaging lessons in Primary History and Geography.

Develop lesson plans, assignments, projects, and assessments to monitor student progress.

Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, and critical thinking.

Help students understand historical events, geographical concepts, cultures, communities, and the environment in an age-appropriate manner.

Provide constructive feedback and individualised support to students.

Use creative teaching strategies, visual materials, maps, technology, and hands-on activities to enhance student learning.

Maintain classroom discipline and promote respectful learning habits.

Stay updated with developments in primary education and apply relevant teaching approaches.

Participate in school activities, staff meetings, events, and professional development initiatives.

Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the overall learning experience at ICONS International School.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Geography, Humanities, Social Studies, or a relevant field.

Teaching certification or proven teaching experience.

Experience teaching primary-level students is preferred.

Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.

A passion for motivating and inspiring young learners.

Ability to make History and Geography engaging, meaningful, and relevant to students.

Proficiency in modern teaching methods and educational technology.

Preferred Skills:
Experience teaching History, Geography, General Studies, Social Studies, or Humanities at primary level.

Ability to integrate technology, maps, visual resources, and project-based learning into lessons.

Strong team player with collaborative skills.

Creative, patient, nurturing, and able to support students with different learning needs.
