Responsible for monitoring and maintaining daily operations of the Data Centre. Ensures system uptime, environmental stability, and compliance with operational and security standards. Provides first-level troubleshooting, incident escalation, and operational reporting to support business continuity.
- Monitor servers, storage, and networking equipment to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Respond to incidents promptly, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine checks, backups, and preventive maintenance on data centre systems.
- Enforce access controls and IT security policies, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Document incidents, maintenance activities, and system changes for audit and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate with IT teams during upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Oversee environmental controls (power supply, cooling systems, fire suppression) to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Support capacity planning and resource allocation, ensuring infrastructure meets business demands.
- Assist in hardware installation and decommissioning, including racking, cabling, and equipment replacement.
- Provide regular status reports to management, highlighting performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform other related Data Centre Operator tasks from time to time assigned by the Data Centre Manager and Technical Manager.
