- Food Preparation: Assist chefs by washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients like vegetables and meats.
- Dishwashing: Manually wash dishes or use industrial-grade dishwashers to clean, dry, and store cookware, utensils, and cutting boards.
- Sanitation & Cleaning: Sweep and mop floors, wipe down work surfaces, and sanitize kitchen equipment to adhere to health codes.
- Waste Management: Empty garbage and recycling bins regularly, replace liners, and clean trash cans.
- Inventory & Stocking: Unload supply delivery trucks, organize storage rooms, and restock workstations with the necessary ingredients and supplies.
- General Support: Assist with opening and closing checklists, pack to-go orders, and occasionally help clear tables or set up dining areas as needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move heavy kitchen equipment and boxes.
- Teamwork: Strong capability to take direct instructions from head chefs and assist different cooks simultaneously.
- Hygiene Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations, cross-contamination prevention, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
