We are currently supporting a well established global industrial power solutions company in the hire of an Electrical Design Engineer.

This position will focus on the design, configuration, and technical delivery of industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for complex customer projects across regional and international markets.

Location: Selangor, Malaysia

Employment Type: Permanent

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering within industrial environments
• Hands-on experience in UPS system design or similar power electronics systems
• Experience working on complex, multi-discipline engineering projects
• Familiarity with electrical drafting and design tools (EPLAN preferred)
• Strong understanding of industrial power systems and protection concepts

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute the technical design and engineering definition of industrial power backup systems from project handover through to final delivery
• Develop tailored engineering solutions based on customer specifications, ensuring technical compliance, reliability, and cost effectiveness
• Interpret client requirements and translate them into detailed engineering configurations and system architectures
• Prepare complete technical documentation including system design files, engineering calculations, equipment lists, and project-specific deliverables
• Coordinate technical interfaces with external vendors and suppliers for component selection and procurement alignment
• Support project execution by ensuring engineering milestones are met in accordance with project schedules
• Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution
• Review and respond to technical clarifications, change requests, and customer engineering feedback
• Produce and maintain manufacturing and testing documentation for workshop execution and system validation
• Provide engineering support during factory testing, inspection activities, and system acceptance stages
• Ensure design outputs comply with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry certifications
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and design standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required
• Assist commercial and tendering teams with technical input during proposal stages

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical and engineering design capability
• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
• Good understanding of electrical system design and industrial power applications
• Strong attention to detail and structured documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross functional teams
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering design software
• Strong ownership and problem-solving mindset

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Internal: Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Sales/Tendering teams
• External: Component suppliers, technical consultants, inspection bodies, and project clients
