Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

A growing manufacturing company is establishing its operations in Malaysia, including a new production facility in Klang scheduled to commence operations later this year. The company is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support factory setup, establish financial processes, ensure statutory compliance, and partner with management during the plant launch and growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including bookkeeping, cost accounting, cash flow management, expense control, and financial reporting.
  • Establish and implement local finance processes and internal controls in compliance with Malaysian regulations and corporate requirements.
  • Manage local tax compliance, including SST, corporate income tax, payroll-related tax matters, and statutory filings.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, banks, company secretaries, and external service providers.
  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting activities, including raw materials, labor, overhead allocation, inventory, work-in-progress, and finished goods costing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury activities, and financial risk management.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements, budget reports, management reports, and business analysis for senior management.
  • Support factory setup, production ramp-up, and ongoing operational decision-making from a finance perspective.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Solid experience in finance, accounting, and statutory compliance within Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, SST regulations, corporate income tax, payroll tax requirements, and local audit processes.
  • Experience independently managing financial compliance and reporting for a Malaysian entity.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, fertilizer, or related sectors is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Experience supporting factory operations, plant startups, or greenfield projects is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English in a business environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in multinational or cross-border manufacturing organizations.
  • Familiarity with group reporting requirements and interactions with overseas headquarters.
  • Experience supporting new factory setup, operational scaling, or production launch activities.
