• Plan, conduct, and supervise electrical testing and diagnostic activities for power and distribution transformers in accordance with approved procedures and industry standards.
• Perform routine, pre-commissioning, condition assessment, and troubleshooting tests on transformers and associated equipment.
• Carry out testing activities including, but not limited to:
• Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR)
• Insulation Resistance (IR)
• Polarization Index (PI)
• Winding Resistance
• Magnetic Balance
• Vector Group Verification
• Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA)
• Capacitance and Tan Delta Testing
• Excitation Current Testing
• Dynamic Resistance Measurement (DRM)
• Frequency Response Analysis (FRA)
• Current Transformer (CT) and Voltage Transformer (VT) Testing
• Analyze test results and identify abnormalities or potential defects.

• Support transformer commissioning, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment activities.
• Coordinate with service personnel during preventive and corrective maintenance works.
• Verify the readiness and condition of transformers before energization.
• Provide technical recommendations based on testing results and condition assessments.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians during field testing activities.
• Ensure proper setup, operation, and dismantling of testing equipment at project sites.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and utility representatives during testing and commissioning works.
• Assist in emergency troubleshooting and outage-related activities when required.

• Operate and maintain electrical testing instruments and diagnostic equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Conduct routine inspection and basic maintenance of testing instruments.
• Safeguard all testing tools and equipment to ensure operational reliability.

• Ensure all testing activities comply with company safety procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Adhere to Permit-To-Work (PTW) procedures and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain environmental and housekeeping standards at project sites.

• Attend toolbox meetings, technical briefings, and safety inductions.
• Maintain professionalism and discipline at all project locations.
• Participate actively in technical training and competency development programs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities.

• Prepare test reports, technical documentation, and service records accurately and promptly.
• Review and interpret test results and provide technical recommendations.
• Maintain calibration records, work logs, and project documentation.
• Ensure customer sign-offs and report submissions are completed in accordance with project requirements.

• Work closely with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, and Technical Specialists to ensure successful project execution.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to technicians and junior engineers.
• Participate in internal and external technical training programs.
• Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
• Professional certification or competency in electrical testing and commissioning is desirable.

• Sound knowledge of power transformers, electrical protection systems, and high-voltage equipment.
• Familiarity with transformer testing standards such as IEC, IEEE, and relevant utility requirements.
• Experience in operating testing equipment including:
• OMICRON
• Megger
• DV Power
• Vanguard
• Doble
• CPC 100
• CT Analyzer
• Tan Delta and SFRA instruments
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and transformer test reports.
• Knowledge of condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques is preferred.

• Physically fit and capable of performing field activities.
• Able to work in outdoor environments, substations, industrial facilities, and areas with heavy electrical equipment.
• Comfortable working under demanding site conditions and project schedules.

• Willing to travel extensively to project sites throughout Malaysia, including remote areas.
• Flexible to work on shifts, weekends, public holidays, and outstation assignments when required.
• Available for emergency call-outs and shutdown activities.

• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Possession of a valid driving license is preferred.
