- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including Linux and Windows servers.
- Support day-to-day operations of server environments (Linux: CentOS/Ubuntu; Windows Server).
- Monitor system performance, perform basic tuning, and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
- Assist in managing storage systems such as SAN and NAS, including provisioning and capacity monitoring.
- Perform routine backup and recovery operations and assist in periodic testing and validation.
- Support implementation of basic security controls, including system hardening, access control, and patch management.
- Assist with vulnerability scans and remediation activities under guidance from senior engineers.
- Support system and database performance monitoring (CPU, memory, disk usage).
- Use and maintain automation or scripting tools for routine operational tasks.
- Assist in disaster recovery preparation and documentation.
- Work closely with application, database, and network teams to support system integration and issue resolution.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately and follow established operational procedures.
- Stay informed of basic industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to system operations.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a System Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Linux server environments (CentOS, Ubuntu) and basic Windows Server administration.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or HCI environments.
- Exposure to SAN/NAS storage systems and basic capacity management.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery concepts and tools.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Ability to follow security policies and compliance requirements.
- Good troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow technically.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.
Optional
- Entry-level certifications (e.g., RHCSA, AWS Cloud Practitioner, MCSA).
- Experience supporting small to medium-sized environments.
- Exposure to IT documentation and change management processes.
