RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTIBILITIES
- Writing and optimizing CNC programs to create complex parts and components.
- Skilled in solid cam software CNC programming CAD/CAM software.
- Skilled in CNC programming (G-code/M-code), process design, and CAD/CAM software.
- Generate, modify, and optimize G-code/M-code programs for CNC Auto Lathe and Swiss-type CNC machines.
- Support production team in troubleshooting machining-related issues and provide technical solutions.
- Maintain a library of standard CNC programs and machining parameters for reference.
- Strong understanding of CNC Auto Lathe operations; Swiss-type experience is an added advantage.
- Selecting the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job.
- Testing programs and making adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Collaborating with engineers and machinists to evaluate project requirements and resolve issues related to machine setup and program performance.
- Maintaining records and documentation for machine specifications and programming notes.
- Staying updated with the latest software and training on new equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations in the workplace.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve CNC machining processes to enhance efficiency, precision, and consistency.
- Analyse current machining methods and propose improvements to cycle time, tool life, and material utilization.
- Work closely with production to implement new or modified processes and monitor performance results.
- Design and test custom tools, jigs, and fixtures for new or complex machining requirements.
- Select suitable cutting tools and parameters for new product trials or improvement projects.
- Collaborate with tooling suppliers for testing new inserts or innovative tool solutions.
- Support NPI activities by developing machining strategies, CNC programs, and setup documents.
- Participate in product prototyping, design validation, and machining trials to ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with design and quality teams during product development and first-article inspection (FAI).

Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Able to read engineering & blueprint drawings
- Able to understand GD & T dimensions
- Strong understanding of CNC Auto Lathe operations; Swiss-type experience is an added advantage.
- Experience in tooling design, prototyping, or product development is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
