About the Role
We are looking for passionate and motivated interns to join our kitchen team. This internship provides hands-on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, food safety and service execution within a fast-paced café environment. You will work closely with our culinary team and gain valuable industry experience while developing practical kitchen skills.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place according to recipes and operational requirements.
- Support the kitchen team in preparing and plating menu items.
- Ensure food quality, consistency and presentation standards are maintained.
- Assist in portioning, packaging and storing food items properly.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and storage areas.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Support stock rotation and inventory management following FIFO practices.
- Ensure ingredients and supplies are adequately stocked during service.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and labeling of food products.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service operations.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
- Assist with special projects, menu development preparations and operational initiatives when required.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and senior kitchen staff.
