Role Summary

This role is crucial for perform nesting of parts for laser cutting with a strong focus on maximizing sheet material utilization, reducing scrap and offcuts, and optimizing cutting sequence to reduce machine cycle time. Work closely with Production Planning to prioritize jobs according to delivery schedules and ensure all programs are prepared and released ahead of production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

· Programming & Nesting: Creating, editing, and optimizing laser programs (using nesting and CAM software) for efficient, accurate, and cost-effective production.

· File/Data Management and Accuracy: Maintain a structured program library with proper naming conventions and revision control. Identify inconsistencies, missing dimensions, or design issues and escalate to Engineering.

· Machine Parameters Setup: Determining and setting up optimal cutting parameters—including laser power, speed, gas type, and pierce setting based on material type and thickness.

· Technical Support & Troubleshoots: Support machine operators during setup to ensure correct program execution. Troubleshoot issues such as poor cut quality, burr formation, or dimensional inaccuracies.

· Quality Control & Inspection: Reviewing parts by perform basic dimensional checks and visual inspections to ensure outputs accuracy.

· Safety & Compliance: Adhering to safety procedures, following proper machine operation guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements

- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or any other related field.

- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Understanding of different materials (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and cutting behavior.

- Experience in laser cutting/programming is an added advantage

- Knowledge of basic machine maintenance concepts is an advantage.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

- Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

- Team-oriented with a proactive working attitude.

- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
