JOB OVERVIEW

The Kitchen Apperentice/Helper / Kitchen Crew supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring efficient food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, and assisting cooks in delivering consistent, high-quality Nasi Lemak dishes. This position is key in maintaining a smooth workflow during peak operating hours.

Job Responsibilities

A. Food Preparation & Support

• Assist in basic food prep such as cutting, slicing, washing, portioning, and marinating ingredients.
• Prepare sambal, condiments, and side items under supervision.
• Ensure mise-en-place is ready before service.
• Assist Line Cooks and CDP during peak periods.

B. Kitchen Operations

• Ensure ingredients are properly labelled, dated, and stored (FIFO).
• Assist in assembling basic menu items and plating as required.
• Support in stock replenishment and refilling of ingredients during service.
• Follow all recipes and SOPs to maintain consistency.

C. Cleaning & Hygiene

• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas at all times.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper sanitization.
• Comply with food safety standards, HALAL requirements, and café hygiene SOPs.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.

D. Teamwork & Other Duties

• Support any other kitchen-related tasks assigned by Outlet Chef or Asst Outlet Chef.
• Cooperate with front-of-house team during rush hours.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and checking product quality.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or relevant experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Prior experience in café, restaurant, or F&B environment is an added advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and high-volume kitchen.
• Physically fit to stand for long hours.
• Able to work shift, weekends, and public holidays.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,800.00 per month
