About the role

YB Woodwork Industry (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Planner Assistant to join our Production, Planning & Scheduling team. This is a full-time position based in Simpang Renggam, Johor. As Planner Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and scheduling operations of our manufacturing facility. You will work closely with the planning team to ensure efficient production schedules, resource allocation, and timely delivery of products. This position is essential to maintaining smooth operations and meeting our production targets.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist in the development and maintenance of production schedules and timelines

  2. Monitor production progress and identify potential delays or bottlenecks

  3. Coordinate with various departments including production, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure alignment with scheduling objectives

  4. Prepare planning reports and documentation for review by senior planning staff

  5. Input and update production data into planning systems and databases

  6. Support inventory management and ensure adequate stock levels for production requirements

  7. Assist in analysing production capacity and resource utilisation

  8. Communicate scheduling updates to relevant departments and stakeholders

  9. Support the identification of areas for process improvement and efficiency gains

What we're looking for

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, or related field is preferred

  2. Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar planning support role within a manufacturing environment

  3. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with production planning software is advantageous

  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across teams

  6. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and report preparation

  7. Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing scheduling challenges

  8. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production requirements

  9. Knowledge of woodworking or manufacturing processes is a plus
