Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Project Manager – Control Systems. The role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing control system projects for building automation from concept through commissioning. Day-to-day tasks include defining project scope and timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating with internal engineers, external vendors, and clients to ensure technical and commercial requirements are met. The Project Manager will review control system designs, PLC logic, and process control architectures, and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Responsibilities also include monitoring project risks, preparing progress reports and documentation, and supporting testing, integration, and handover activities. The role requires proactive communication, structured project tracking, and the ability to resolve technical and scheduling issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in process control and control systems design, with the ability to interpret P&IDs, control philosophies, and system architectures.
• Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC), including configuration, basic troubleshooting, and understanding of integration with building automation systems.
• Experience in project management, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and risk management for technical projects.
• Background in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline, with familiarity in building services, instrumentation, and control wiring.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Control, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills, with attention to detail in technical specifications and project records.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients in a remote setting.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS), energy optimization projects, or system integration in commercial or industrial facilities is an advantage.
