About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Production Operations Manager for a multinational company specializing in consumer goods to lead manufacturing operations and ensure smooth production, product quality, equipment reliability, and workplace safety. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving efficiency, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations to achieve output, quality, and delivery targets.
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, and manpower utilization.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
• Oversee Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) activities to maintain product standards.
• Manage maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) regulations and company policies.
• Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to build a high-performance culture.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvement plans.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Purchasing, and HR teams to support smooth operations.
• Control production costs and drive process optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong experience in production operations, quality management, maintenance, and workplace safety.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
• Good understanding of production planning, quality systems, and maintenance management.
• Familiarity with Malaysian OSHA and manufacturing compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in mattress, foam, furniture, or related manufacturing industries is an advantage.
