Job Title: Technician – Electrical & Air Conditioning System
Division: Facilities & Administration Department
Reporting To: Senior Executive, Building & Facilities Management
Job Purpose
To perform installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and air-conditioning systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of building facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
- Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults involving lighting, power sockets, distribution boards, wiring, switches, and control panels.
- Replace defective electrical components and equipment as required.
- Monitor electrical systems and report abnormalities promptly.
- Assist in testing and commissioning electrical installations.
Air Conditioning (HVAC) Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on split units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
- Clean air filters, evaporator coils, condenser coils, and drainage systems.
- Check refrigerant levels, operating pressures, electrical connections, and system performance.
- Diagnose and repair air-conditioning faults and breakdowns.
- Coordinate with external service contractors for major repairs when required.
Building Maintenance Support
- Attend to maintenance requests and work orders within the specified response time.
- Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, offices, laboratories, common areas, and building facilities.
- Assist with minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance works when necessary.
- Support renovation and refurbishment projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while carrying out duties.
- Report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in emergency response activities and facility inspections.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and service logs.
Customer Service
- Respond professionally to staff, students, tenants, and building occupants.
- Provide updates on maintenance status and completion of work requests.
Requirements
- Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical and air-conditioning maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, and building maintenance practices.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Possession of Electrical Competency Certificate (Chargeman and/or PW4/PW2) is an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,600.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
