Lead the regional origination strategy — identifying, prioritising, and advancing utility solar project opportunities across Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and ad hoc markets.
Own the ASEAN Power Grid opportunity — tracking cross-border corridor developments, bilateral power agreements, and interconnector projects relevant to the company's pipeline.
Oversee the build‑out of in‑country subcontractor networks (solar installation, civil works, interconnection, cabling) as a strategic commercial asset.
Direct the Regional SEA Development team in market intelligence gathering, local authority engagement, regulatory groundwork, and JV partner management.
Represent the company in senior‑level partner discussions, government briefings, and market‑entry negotiations.
Oversee the Malaysia land acquisition pipeline — ensuring sufficient land depth to support development targets across LSS, CRESS, and special projects.
Direct the Assistant PM, Land Development and the land team in parcel sourcing, landowner negotiation, due diligence, and title resolution.
Own strategic landowner and land aggregator key accounts attending critical negotiations and providing escalation support.
Manage C&I offtaker and land aggregator key accounts on a KAM basis maintaining relationship health, surfacing pipeline intelligence, and escalating to the Director at deal‑critical moments.
Manage overseas partner relationships for all SEA markets JV sponsors, development co‑sponsors, and in‑country partners.
Directly manage the Assistant PM, Land Development and Assistant PM, Regional SEA Development — setting KPIs, conducting monthly reviews, and developing both into future PM‑level leaders.
Oversee the performance of in‑country leads (Vietnam, Philippines) through the Asst PM SEA.
Deliver a comprehensive monthly pipeline report to the Director covering regional SEA origination, land pipeline status, key account health, and risks.
Qualifications
5–8 years in RE project development, land acquisition, or infrastructure development across Southeast Asia.
Degree in Engineering, Business, Property, or related field. MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
Fluent in English; additional SEA language proficiency is a strong advantage.
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and in‑country development pipelines.
Track record of independently originating and advancing utility‑scale RE projects to advanced development stage.
Direct experience working in at least 2 SEA markets beyond Malaysia.
Commercially strong, able to structure JV terms, evaluate project economics, and lead partner negotiations.
People leader, develops direct reports deliberately, not just assigns tasks.
Willing and able to travel extensively across SEA. This role requires physical presence in‑country.
Established network across SEA RE market, partners, contractors, government contacts.
