Position: Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer


Location: Masai, Johor (Fully Onsite)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Travel Requirement: 50–70% travel within Johor, Melaka, and occasionally overseas

About the Company and Position


Our client specializes in industrial sealing and fluid control solutions, serving industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, and Heavy Industries. The company provides technical expertise and engineered solutions for gaskets, mechanical seals, and rotating equipment applications.


We are looking for a motivated Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer to drive business growth through technical solution selling of industrial sealing products and services. The role involves business development, key account management, and providing technical support to customers in industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Power Generation. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of mechanical sealing systems, rotating equipment, and industrial maintenance applications, with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.


Key Responsibilities


1) Business Development & Sales


* Identify and develop new business opportunities within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, EPC contractors, and industrial manufacturing sectors.

* Expand market presence by promoting the company’s sealing and fluid control solutions to end-users, contractors, consultants, and distributors.

* Manage and grow existing customer accounts while maintaining strong client relationships.

* Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue growth, and business objectives.


2) Technical Solution Selling


* Provide technical consultation and recommend suitable gasket, sealing, and fluid handling solutions based on customer requirements and operating conditions.

* Conduct troubleshooting and site assessments for sealing failures, leakage issues, and rotating equipment applications.

* Support customers during maintenance, turnaround, and shutdown projects by proposing reliable and cost-effective solutions.

* Coordinate with principals, suppliers, and internal teams on technical specifications and product selection.


3) Tender & Project Management


* Prepare quotations, proposals, technical documentation, and tender submissions.

* Review customer specifications, engineering drawings, and project requirements.

* Follow up on RFQs, project opportunities, and order negotiations to secure business closure.

* Monitor project execution timelines and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.


4) Market & Industry Analysis


* Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming maintenance/shutdown projects.

* Identify opportunities for long-term contracts and recurring maintenance business.

* Gather market intelligence to support strategic business expansion.


Requirements

1) Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred).

2) Candidates with Electrical Engineering background are generally not preferred for this role.

3) Minimum:

a) 2 years of experience for Sales Engineer position, or

b) 5 years of relevant experience for Senior Sales Engineer position.

4) Experience in industrial products, sealing solutions, rotating equipment, mechanical seals, pumps, valves, or gaskets within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Power industries.

5) Strong technical understanding of:

- Gaskets and industrial sealing systems

- Mechanical seals

- Rotating equipment

- Pumps, valves, and fluid handling systems

6) Experience handling EPC contractors, maintenance teams, and industrial end-users is an advantage.

7) Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

8) Self-motivated, independent, and capable of managing customer visits and project follow-ups.
