Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for leading and coordinating the maintenance, repair, and improvement of production machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. Ensure smooth operations with minimal downtime, compliance with food safety standards, and effective supervision of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of all production machinery and utilities.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair of critical equipment to ensure minimal production disruption.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer’s service requirements.
- Approve and maintain accurate documentation of work orders, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Supervise and guide Senior Technicians and Technicians in daily maintenance tasks.
- Provide training and coaching to enhance team skills, technical knowledge, and GMP awareness.
- Monitor team performance, attendance, and discipline, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Promote safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all activities.
- Identify, propose, and lead improvement or cost-saving initiatives related to machinery efficiency, reliability, and energy usage.
- Coordinate and participate in testing, commissioning, and validation of new machinery.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve line efficiency.
- Implement 5S practices and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage spare parts and lubricants stock to ensure timely availability for maintenance.
- Verify technical specifications of spare parts for procurement to maintain machine reliability.
- Ensure all maintenance practices comply with food safety regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports for management review.
- Highlight risks, propose solutions, and track progress of ongoing projects and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/ Experiences
- Certificate/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalents.
- At least 2-5 years’ working experience in maintenance of manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of electrical is an added advantage.
- Candidate must be willing to work on a shift basis.
Knowledge And Skills
- Understand electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Knowledge of GMP and Food Safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to perform electrical and mechanical jobs.
- Good sense to create a safe working area.
- Ability to mix well and establish good relations at all levels.
- Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
- Ability to execute preventive maintenance according to schedule.
