Job Summary
This position will manage the performance of all IT equipment such as computers, network devices, servers, printers, and phones. The IT Engineer is the primary technical contact for our employees and insures that service delivery aligns with Supermicro's standards. This individual will have an in-depth knowledge of the IT environment, and business requirements, with the desired goal of reducing the amount of reactive support required. Customer satisfaction and fast resolution time are the primary objectives of the IT Engineer.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide First-Level Support
Deliver timely first-level technical assistance to end users through phone, email, messaging platforms, or the ticketing system.
Issue Troubleshooting & Resolution Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to user operations.
User Account & Access Management Assist with user account setup, access provisioning, password resets, and basic system configuration to support smooth onboarding and daily operations.
IT Equipment Setup & Maintenance Support the installation, configuration, and regular maintenance of IT equipment such as PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
Issue Escalation Escalate more complex or unresolved incidents to senior engineers, specialized teams, or external vendors as appropriate, ensuring timely follow-up.
Documentation & Asset Management Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT documentation, including troubleshooting guides, system configurations, and asset inventory records.
Project Support Assist in the execution of IT-related initiatives, including system upgrades, software rollouts, infrastructure improvements, or security enhancement projects.
Policy & Security Compliance Ensure adherence to IT policies, procedures, and security standards, promoting best practices in system usage and data protection
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field is preferable. Candidates with relevant certifications or equivalent experience may also be considered.
Around 3 years of experience in IT support is preferred, and additional related experience would be an added advantage to the candidate.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities are highly valued for this role.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders, are preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities is beneficial and considered added value.
Experience with service desk Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting is advantageous.
Proficiency in English, at a basic to intermediate level, is highly advantageous and adds value to the candidate's profile
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is preferable.
