Planning and Organizing:
- Complying with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety licensing and provide all necessary safety equipment required for work to be carried out efficiently and safely.
- Planning and managing all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
- Monitoring the responsible use of energy in the hotel continuously and implementing measures resulting in energy cost savings.
Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance. Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
Administration
- Liaising with HR over all employee matters including recruitment and interviewing.
- Controlling all payroll and business expenditure of the department.
Maintenance
- Providing in-house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance using well-trained, presentable personnel carrying out maintenance work in an efficient, discreet, and guest-friendly manner.
- Carry out continuous inspections to ensure the highest level of guest comfort is maintained and that all services are in proper working condition.
- Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritized and dealt with in an efficient manner.
- Planning and managing all repair and installation activities. Develop a team of technically proficient and generally helpful technicians to carry out all maintenance and repair work to standard with technical specifications.
- Acts as a Project Manager between resort and outside contractors or technical services on major projects.
- Attends seminars and technical exhibitions and reads relevant publications to keep him up to date in the Engineering field.
- Creating and implementing maintenance procedures, supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
- Maintaining all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards. Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Overseeing equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary.
