Job Role: Shift Lead Engineer – Data Center Operations

Employer: Data center operations & digital infrastructure services

Location: Johor, Malaysia
Job Type: Full Time – On Site

Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in data center facilities operations, electrical/mechanical systems, or critical infrastructure environment with leadership exposure.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lead and supervise shift engineers to ensure smooth 24/7 operations
• Act as the primary escalation point for technical incidents and operational issues
• Oversee alert monitoring, incident management, and escalation processes
• Ensure proper execution of Emergency Operations Procedures (EOP)
• Coordinate and validate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Monitor SLA performance, uptime, and operational KPIs
• Ensure compliance with data center policies, procedures, and audit standards
• Prepare shift reports, root cause analysis (RCA), and incident documentation
• Support customer communications and manage high-priority escalations
• Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to team members
• Participate in audits, drills, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Review and optimize operational workflows and efficiency

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related technical discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data center operations or critical facilities
• Proven experience handling:
• HV/MV power systems
• UPS, chillers, generators, transformers
• BMS, DCIM systems
• Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Good command of English (verbal & written)
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-availability environment
