Job Purpose:

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of driver management and workshop repair operations. This role acts as a key liaison between drivers, planners and the workshop team to optimize fleet utilization, manage repairs, enforce driver discipline, and uphold operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workshop Repair Coordination

• Oversee and coordinate all repair activities, including:

o Breakdowns - Ensure swift response and resolution.

o In-house Repairs - Liaise with the workshop team to prioritize and schedule repairs.

o Third-Party Repairs - Arrange and follow up on repairs done by external workshops.

o Special Cases - Handle unique repair requests or urgent issues requiring immediate attention.

2. Fleet & Truck Availability Management (Liaise with Driver Management team)

• Provide real-time updates on truck and driver availability to the Planner team.

• Handle driver requests related to truck repairs by:

o Assessing if a repair is genuinely needed before pulling a truck from operation.

o Coordinating with the workshop team for necessary repairs.

o Allocating a different truck for the driver, if required.

• Continuously monitor and improve fleet efficiency to minimize downtime and optimize truck utilization.

3. Handling Special & Shortage Cases

• Assist Senior Executive Driver Management to manage cement shortages OPC / GGBS / truck damages (inclusive of excessive tyre wear or damage cases

o Conduct investigations and interviews with drivers involved in such cases.

4. Repair Planning & Coordination

• Receive tanker repair requests from drivers and assess the necessary actions based on the severity of issues (minor/major).

• Ensure the availability of spare parts before scheduling repairs.

• Update truck repair and breakdown status in WhatsApp groups to keep all relevant departments informed.

5. Preventive Maintenance & Scheduling

• Monitor and schedule preventive maintenance, including:

o Servicing

o Bushing and bearing replacement

o Tire changes

o Greasing

o etc

• Arrange and oversee outdoor truck repairs when required.

6. PUSPAKOM & Compliance Management

• Oversee the entire PUSPAKOM vehicle inspection process, including:

o Scheduling truck inspections.

o Planning and coordinating truck repairs to pass inspections (in-house or third-party).

o Managing booking schedules for inspections.

o Organizing and updating truck availability for inspections.

• Handling "gantung" (suspension) cases and any special inspection requirements.

Key Competencies & Requirements:

• Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with drivers, planners, and workshop teams.

• Ability to enforce disciplinary actions while maintaining good working relationships with drivers.

• Good problem-solving skills to manage fleet shortages and ensure smooth operations.

• Strong organizational skills to handle scheduling, reporting, and fleet tracking.

• Familiarity with PUSPAKOM procedures and vehicle maintenance requirements is an advantage.

• Experience in fleet or transport operations is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
