Job Summary

The Engineering Intern will support the team in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, and Audio Visual (AV) systems. This role provides hands-on exposure to hotel maintenance operations, technical troubleshooting, and event AV setup.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Maintenance

• Assist in daily maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Support basic repairs such as lighting, air-conditioning, plumbing, and electrical issues
• Conduct routine inspections and report any defects or safety concerns
• Assist in preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled

2. Rooms Engineering Support

• Attend to minor guest room issues (e.g. lights, TV, aircon, door lock)
• Ensure rooms are in good working condition prior to guest check-in
• Work closely with Housekeeping to resolve room defects promptly

3. Audio Visual (AV) Support

• Assist in setting up AV equipment for meetings, events, and functions
• Support operation of microphones, projectors, LED screens, and sound systems
• Troubleshoot basic AV issues during events
• Ensure proper dismantling and storage of AV equipment after use

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or technical systems is an advantage
• Willing to learn, hands-on, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
