The Finance Manager will be responsible for full-spectrum financial management, including monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations, cash flow planning, and departmental budgeting.
This role requires a hands-on, execution-focused individual capable of building finance structures, processes, and controls from the ground up in a growing manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
- Prepare and finalise full set monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure timely month-end closing (target: 7–10 days)
- Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods
- Provide actionable financial insights to management
2. Cash Flow Planning & Treasury
- Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts (weekly & monthly)
- Monitor inflows/outflows to ensure sufficient working capital
- Plan and prioritise payments (suppliers, payroll, financing obligations)
- Identify potential cash gaps and propose mitigation strategies
- Manage banking facilities, financing lines, and relationships
- Critical for manufacturing: aligning cash flow with inventory, production, and receivables cycle.
3. Bank Reconciliation & Cash Controls
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Implement controls over payments, collections, and cash handling
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all transactions
4. Budgeting & Departmental Planning
- Lead annual budgeting process across departments (Production, Sales, Admin, etc.)
- Work with department heads to develop detailed operational budgets
- Track and monitor actual vs budget performance
- Provide monthly budget variance analysis and recommendations
- Support management in cost control and resource allocation decisions
5. Finance Processes & Internal Controls
- Establish and implement finance SOPs, policies, and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls across procurement, inventory, and payments
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Continuously improve finance workflows and reporting systems
6. Costing & Manufacturing Finance
- Monitor and analyse material, labour, and overhead costs
- Support standard costing and cost optimisation initiatives
- Work closely with production to improve efficiency and margins
- Track inventory valuation and movement
7. Accounts Receivable & Payable Oversight
- Oversee invoicing, collections, and supplier payments
- Monitor debtor ageing and enforce credit control
- Optimise working capital cycle (inventory, receivables, payables)
8. Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
- Support year-end audit and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with LHDN requirements
- Handle SST and statutory submissions where applicable
9. Systems & Implementation
- Assist in implementing or improving accounting/ERP systems
- Develop structured chart of accounts aligned with reporting needs
- Drive automation and digitalisation in finance processes
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
- ACCA (mandatory)
- Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in full set accounts, cash flow management, and budgeting
- Preferably with manufacturing or industrial exposur
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cash flow planning, and budgeting
- Hands-on with accounting systems (SQL, AutoCount, SAP, etc.)
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Ability to build systems and processes from scratch
- High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset
