About The Job
For our
Holding Group in Singapore and Malaysia, we are looking for a
Business Controller who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and growing business. This function reports to the Emerging Markets Finance Business Partner. Position is based in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur/Johor Baru).
Please note that while Fagron does not currently operate under the Fagron brand in Malaysia, we are expanding in the region through acquisitions. As part of this growth, the role will be located at
Amber Pharmacy , a company being integrated into our group.
In this role you are responsible of financial processes and management within the Holding group and its entities in Singapore and Malaysia. Comprehends modelling, structuring and implementing the financial processes according to corporate policies; evaluate and interpret financial data and translate this into understandable reports. Good accounting proficiency is the starting point. You support commercial strategy under the financial, compliance and challenge when necessary.
Your responsibilities:
- Model, structure, implement and control financial procedures for the entity group in line with Fagron’s policies and practices; including the coordination and supervision of day-to-day activities are in line with business and financial strategy.
- Ensure accurate accounting, cost prices calculations, resolving complex issues, reviewing balance sheet items and tax calculations.
- Monthly/Yearly closing management and reporting processes for the Holding group together with management to Emerging Markets Region.
- Contribute to the annual budget process and quarterly forecast process for each entity.
- Proactively analyzing, delivering and communicating results (monitoring variances, identifying trends, etc) across the different departments.
- Provide management with financial and analytical support and detailed insights to act as a trusted partner on strategic decisions.
- Participate in Ad hoc projects (i.e. advice on contract negotiations, lead local ERP implementations…).
Set yourself apart
You have experience in a dynamic environment in which you will fully operational but also think along at strategic level. The ideal candidate brings most of the following:
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Economics, Accounting or Controlling.
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar position in a matrix organization.
- Excellent accounting knowledge (IFRS) and Singapore & Malaysia reporting requirements (SFRS/MPERS).
- Experience with Financial and ICT processes (Microsoft Dynamics 365/AX is an advantage).
- Clear interest in new IT tools in financial analysis and reporting, Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa/Mandarin and English.
- Expert in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel).
- Affinity with an innovation-driven organization.
- Hands-on and positive attitude, solid team player, self-discipline and goal driven, analytical, accurate and performance.
- Ability to research issues and arrive at logical well-documented analysis and conclusions.
- Willing to travel to within Malaysia and Singapore.
