Get to know the Role:

We are seeking to hire a talented and passionate System Engineer & Information Security Officer (ISO). In this dual role, you will be responsible for the robustness of our internal IT infrastructure while spearheading our information security strategy.

It is vital that you take the initiative to identify systemic risks and have the right mindset and skill sets to solve complex security and infrastructure problems. You will work closely with our engineering and management teams to ensure Hata remains a secure and compliant gateway for digital assets.

The day-to-day activities:

• Manage and maintain internal IT infrastructure, including device security, VPN configurations, and communication tools.
• Define, implement, and maintain the organization’s information security strategy, policies, and standards.
• Lead vulnerability management initiatives, including regular scanning, remediation tracking, and risk acceptance processes.
• Monitor and review system logs to identify any possible intrusions or security breaches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, and QA) to ensure security is integrated into the product development lifecycle.
• Identify, recommend, and implement potential quality and security process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency.
• Maintain thorough documentation of security protocols, test results, and infrastructure changes.
• Keep updated with the latest industry trends, security threats, and technologies to ensure our defences are up to date.

The Must-Have:

• Minimum 3 years of proven work experience in system engineering or information security.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical risks into business impact.
• Strong knowledge of security methodologies, vulnerability management tools, and IT infrastructure best practices.
• Solid understanding of networking, VPNs, and device management security.
• Analytical mind and a proactive problem-solving aptitude.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and a solid understanding of SQL and databases is a plus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are highly regarded.
