The Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals in response to customer inquiries, tenders, and requests for quotation (RFQs). This role acts as a bridge between sales, engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, technically sound, and aligned with customer requirements and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze customer specifications, RFQs, ITBs, and tender documents.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals within submission deadlines.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and vendors for costing and technical inputs.
Develop project cost estimates, pricing calculations, and bid summaries.
Clarify technical requirements with customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and commercial requirements.
Prepare proposal documentation including scope of work, technical deviations, schedules, and commercial terms.
Participate in bid clarification meetings and customer presentations.
Maintain proposal records, templates, and historical cost databases.
Support handover activities to project execution teams after contract award.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with bids and proposals.
Continuously improve proposal quality, accuracy, and turnaround time.
