The Commis is responsible for assisting in food preparation and kitchen operations to support banquet and event functions. This role ensures food is prepared according to standards, hygiene is maintained, and service runs smoothly during events.

THE JOBSCOPE
Assist in basic food preparation (washing, cutting, portioning, and cooking support).
Support Chef de Partie and kitchen team in daily kitchen operations.
Prepare food items according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
Ensure timely food preparation for banquet and event service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations at all times.
Follow food safety and HACCP standards.
Assist in setting up food stations for events and functions.
Properly store, label, and manage food ingredients.
Support stock handling and basic inventory control.
Work closely with banquet and service teams during events.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as Commis or in kitchen operations
Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
Able to work in a fast-paced banquet/event environment
Good teamwork and willingness to learn
Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
