Supervise all staff under his charge and to be responsible for the job performed by them.
Analyze and carry out diagnosis work and inform service advisor on the required repair work.
Advise job controller on problematic repair work required to be carried out having received customer information.
Supervise all repair work and assist technician in trouble shooting and performing problem repairs.
Inform service advisor of delay in repairs and additional repairs / defects.
Ensure high efficiency and productivity of employees. Analyze reasons for repeat jobs.
Ensure warranty parts are tagged and arranged orderly.
Responsible on warranty defective parts disposal and ensure the disposal process are comply with company’s SOP
Maintain inventory of tools and equipment (in case a tool keeper is not assigned, control, order and maintain adequate inventory of oil, grease. Shop supplies, cleaning equipment and material. Establish and ensure adherence to maintain schedule for service facilities, service shop vehicles and shop equipment
Responsible to train technician and other workshop personnel
Establish and monitor on the job training programs for all productive employees and trainees.
To ensure full utilization of special tools, service equipment and training provided.
Check and review work in progress and follow up for completion as promised to the customer.
Arrange all vehicles sent in for repairs / maintenance to the appropriate work bay for work to be carried out.
Responsible to test drive vehicle immediately upon completion of repairs to determine jobs are done satisfactorily and arrange vehicles to be cleaned (quality control check).
Determine flat rate time / productive time of problematic repairs as necessary for purpose of technician’s incentive computation
Responsible on all warranty repair in terms of giving authorization, determination etc to avoid rejection of warranty claim
Responsible in SOPs, ISO, DOE, Safety & Health and local authorities compliance. Provide excellent customer service and ensure increased in retention rate. Deal with all complaints amicably, manage operating cost, good housekeeping practices and ensure company’s profitability
Responsible to perform other duties requested by superior.
Requirements:
Minimum SPM & SKM in Automotive Technology or equivalent technical qualification.
At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Strong technical knowledge in minor and major repair, diagnosis, and first-time-fix practices.
Good understanding of warranty procedures, technical reporting, and workshop operations.
Able to meet productivity, quality, and efficiency targets with minimal comeback repairs.
Familiar with SOPs, ISO, Safety & Health, and workshop compliance requirements.
Responsible, disciplined, and able to guide junior technicians when required.
Able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
