Project Engineer & Planner (Contract)
Location: Kerteh, Terengganu (first 2 months), then relocate to next project site within Peninsular Malaysia

About the Role
You will plan and manage assigned projects end-to-end from preparing schedule, cost, quality, and safety, so each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle: design review, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop and control project schedules (Gantt/MS Project), resources, and deliverables; track progress and variances.
- Monitor fabrication/site works against approved drawings/specifications, quality requirements, ISO standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate across engineering, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors; maintain clear, timely communication with all stakeholders.
- Prepare weekly/bi-weekly/monthly reports per client/project requirements; highlight progress, risks, and mitigations.
- Manage day-to-day site operations, tools/equipment readiness, and materials sufficiency to ensure smooth execution.
- Verify subcontractor progress and supplier invoices; support cost monitoring and progress claims.
- Provide technical support to clients and subcontractors; initiate corrective actions on engineering deliverables when needed.
- Support recruitment of general workers (permanent/contract) where required.
- Support ad-hoc project tasks and special assignments as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
- ≥ 2 years relevant experience (project engineering; planning & scheduling).
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong organisation, communication (English & Bahasa Malaysia), and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Problem-solving, accountability, leadership, and teamwork; proactive and independent.
- Tools: AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advantages: ISO standards exposure; proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks; simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Willing to travel and work outstation across Peninsular Malaysia.
