Process Development & Optimization

1. Develop, evaluate, and improve CNC machining processes to enhance efficiency, precision, and consistency.

2. Analyze current machining methods and propose improvements to cycle time, tool life, and material utilization.

3. Work closely with production to implement new or modified processes and monitor performance results.

Tooling & Fixture Design

1. Design and test custom tools, jigs, and fixtures for new or complex machining requirements.

2. Select suitable cutting tools and parameters for new product trials or improvement projects.

3. Collaborate with tooling suppliers for testing new inserts or innovative tool solutions.

4. New Product Introduction (NPI)

5. Support NPI activities by developing machining strategies, CNC programs, and setup documents.

6. Participate in product prototyping, design validation, and machining trials to ensure manufacturability.

7. Collaborate with design and quality teams during product development and first-article inspection (FAI).

CNC Programming & Technical Support

1. Generate, modify, and optimize G-code/M-code programs for CNC Auto Lathe and Swiss-type CNC machines.

2. Support production team in troubleshooting machining-related issues and provide technical solutions.

3. Maintain a library of standard CNC programs and machining parameters for reference.

Research & Innovation

1. Explore and evaluate new machining technologies, materials, and methods that can be integrated into production.

2.Stay updated with industry trends in CNC automation, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing.

3. Recommend capital investments or upgrades to support continuous improvement.

Documentation & Compliance

1. Prepare technical reports, SOPs, work instructions, and test documentation for all development projects.

2. Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and ISO standards in R&D activities.

3. Maintain detailed records of experiments, trials, and results for future reference and audits.

Collaboration & Project Management

1. Work with cross-functional teams including design, production, QA, and procurement for development initiatives.

2. Assist in managing R&D timelines, priorities, and deliverables.

3. Support internal training by sharing new process knowledge with engineering or production teams.

Other Duties

1. Perform other tasks assigned by management related to process development, quality improvement, or cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements:

1. Diploma/Degree or technical training in CNC machining preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC machining and programming (Milling and Auto Lathe)

3. Knowledge of functioning, setting up and operating of the 5-axis and 7-axis, Turning and Turnmill CNC machines.

4. Good understanding of Geometrical Dimensional Tolerances.

5. Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings.

6. Skills in recognizing improper functioning of machine and/or cutting actions of tools.

7. Capable to use common measuring equipment.

8. Experience as a Machinist would be an advantage.
