Job Description
We are seeking a System Administrator with solid experience in managing server infrastructure and data center operations across Unix, Linux, and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, installing, configuring, and optimizing IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. You should also be capable of delivering solutions that support business growth, organizational development, and system/network optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze system performance, including CPU, memory, and storage utilization
- Manage and maintain file systems with strong understanding of file handling processes
- Apply ITIL principles and service management best practices
- Perform basic database administration (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Install, configure, and maintain open-source technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, and Nginx
- Support networking functions including TCP/IP analysis, routing, switching, and firewall management
- Develop and maintain scripts using tools such as Windows Batch, Python, PowerShell, or Linux Shell
- Utilize automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef) — added advantage
- Work with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes — added advantage
- Ensure the stability, maintenance, and configuration of systems and virtualization platforms
- Manage virtual servers and support system upgrades, installations, and automation integration
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform diagnostics, and document resolutions
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure planning and upgrades
- Perform or coordinate regular backups and implement disaster recovery, failover, and data protection processes
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in system administration
- Relevant certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or networking are an added advantage
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as oVirt, Hyper-V, VMware, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of systems, networking hardware/software, and protocols
- Experience in scripting and automation tools
- Proven ability to develop and implement IT strategies and plans
- Solid understanding of IT operations best practices, including security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
