Role Description


Get to know the role: 

Responsible for the provision of advice to management on contemporary human resources management issues, employment and industrial law, workplace and local government. Provide advice to the management and implement industrial relations and employment policies in best practice of the industry by ensuring we create a Safe & Respectful Workplace environment for all. 


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Be the go-to expert for employee relations matters; handling disciplinary issues, grievances, disputes, and performance concerns
  • Lead investigations, gather evidence, and manage documentation for internal inquiries and court cases
  • Design and deliver engaging training for managers on IR policies and disciplinary procedures
  • Provide counselling and guidance to employees and stakeholders with professionalism and empathy
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Industrial Relations policies and frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and stay updated on the latest legal developments
  • Collaborate closely with government authorities, external partners, and internal teams on employment matters
  • Support HR leadership on strategic employee relations initiatives and special projects


What We’re Looking For:

Someone who is analytical, people-centric, and confident in navigating complex workplace situations while keeping things fair, compliant, and constructive.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma, Diploma in Human Resource Management related discipline or equivalent. 
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the area related to industrial relations and employment/labour matters. 
  • Familiar with Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967. 
  • Required skills: Excellent People Management skills, communication skills, negotiation skills, coaching skills, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, writing skills, computer skills, stakeholder management, time management. 
  • Personal attributes: Analytical, proactive, fair, determined, confident, critical thinker, people oriented, logical, sense of urgency, good time management. 
  • Possess good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia. 
  • Performance-driven and team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to influence and coach managers on IR practices.
  • Experience in Retail, F&B or Hospitality is an added advantage.
