• Diploma in Nursing recognised by the government from any local institutions of higher learning or equivalent institutions, AND have registered with the Malaysia Nursing Board.

• Possess active Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).

• Able to converse and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Candidate without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a critical member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. This role requires a blend of technical medical expertise, critical thinking, and deep empathy to improve patient outcomes and support families during recovery or end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.

• Care Planning: Modify patient health treatment plans and individual insurance plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

• Medication Administration: Administer local, inhalation, intravenous, and other medications. Monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.

• Technical Procedures: Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.

• Direct Care: Provide bedside care, including wound dressing, catheterization, and assisting with personal hygiene.

• Collaboration: Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

• Education: Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth.
