Role Description The IETS Technician role is a contract, on-site position based in Butterworth. This role involves daily monitoring, operation, and basic maintenance of industrial effluent treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental standards and internal performance targets. The IETS Technician will collect and record operational data, perform routine inspections, assist in troubleshooting system issues, and support corrective actions under the guidance of senior technical staff. The role also includes safe handling of chemicals, adherence to safety procedures, and collaboration with internal teams and external service providers to maintain continuous and efficient system operation.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of industrial effluent treatment systems and basic understanding of water chemistry and environmental regulations.
• Ability to perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and accurate data logging for plant operations.
• Strong attention to safety practices, including proper chemical handling, use of PPE, and adherence to site safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and external contractors.
• Relevant technical certificate or diploma in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in industrial water or wastewater treatment operations will be an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site in Butterworth and adapt to shift or weekend schedules if required.
