Senior Installation Analysis Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Duration: 12 months

Role Summary

Perform and assure installation engineering and dynamic analysis for deepwater pipelines, flexible products, umbilicals, risers, and subsea structures. Develop executable installation solutions and provide analysis support from tender and design stages through offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop installation analyses, procedures, and engineering deliverables for pipelines, flexibles, umbilicals, risers, subsea structures, and associated equipment.
• Perform static and dynamic analyses for pipelay, cable and umbilical lay, recovery, abandonment, lowering, lifting, deployment, and subsea equipment installation.
• Assess installation loads, tensions, bend radii, clearances, vessel motions, environmental limits, operability, and equipment capacities.
• Build, validate, and document analysis models, inputs, assumptions, sensitivities, and acceptance criteria.
• Support selection of installation vessels, lay systems, cranes, winches, handling equipment, and temporary aids.
• Prepare and review design reports, method statements, installation procedures, rigging studies, and offshore engineering documentation.
• Interface with pipeline, riser, flexible, structural, naval, marine operations, vessel, and offshore teams.
• Provide engineering support during mobilisation and offshore execution, including management of technical queries and changes.

Experience and Qualifications

• Mandatory: directly relevant SURF and deepwater project experience.
• Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Offshore, Ocean, Naval Architecture, Civil, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Typically 10 years or more of relevant installation engineering or analysis experience, including deepwater SURF work.
• Demonstrable analysis experience involving pipelines, flexibles, umbilicals, risers, or subsea structures.
• Detailed understanding of pipelay and offshore installation methods, vessel behaviour, marine operations, and installation equipment.
• Working knowledge of relevant DNV, API, and ISO requirements and recommended practices.
• Offshore mobilisation or execution experience is strongly preferred.

Software and Technical Tools

• Advanced OrcaFlex capability is expected.
• Experience with OFFPIPE and complementary analysis or calculation tools is strongly advantageous.

Candidate Profile

A technically credible and delivery-focused engineer who can work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, challenge assumptions constructively, communicate risk clearly, and produce high-quality engineering within programme requirements. The successful candidate must be comfortable engaging with clients, contractors, vendors, and offshore stakeholders.
